After installing OmniPage 17 into a Windows XP bottle - using CrossOver for Mac 10.0.1 on OS X 10.6.7 - because i'd run OP on a Windows XP PC, I kept getting an error message from OP when I tried to start it: "OmniPage 17 is unable to start! Error code: 800154"
Nuance discusses Error 80040154. Key points from there and my tests are:
OP 17 runs under Windows XP, but can't start in a CrossOver WIndows XP bottle (for some unknown reason, it detects Windows 2000),
other than Windows XP, Nuance's only recommended version of Windows for running OP is Windows Vista 64-bit (Service Pack 1),
a related article, Unable to install OmniPage 17 on Windows 7, describes additional steps to install OP on MS WIndows 7 (implying that it may be possible to use a CrossOver Windows 7 bottle),
using my Windows XP bottle's Control Panel to access the Wine Configuration built-in tool, I changed the Windows version to Windows Vista, and no longer got Error 800154; instead, startup proceeded to an OP splash screen,
I'd used the bottle's Wine Configuration tool to change the Windows version to Windows Vista, and that change made a difference, but CrossOver still indicates that it's a Windows XP bottle.
Given this progress and some success performing conversions using OP's Batch Manager, I'll try installing OP directly into a Windows Vista bottle. If that doesn't work, I'll try a Windows 7 bottle.
