Igor Engraver runs best in a Windows 98 bottle. When reaching the last dialog window during installation, choose not to restart your computer and then click Finish. After installation, one has to put at least one - preferably several - additional text fonts into /home/.cxoffice/Igor_Engraver_1.7/drive_c/windows/Fonts in order to have readable text in the scores; the one - or at least one of those fonts - needs to have a name with its first letter within the range A-H in order to get placed before the Igor fonts and thus be used for text in the scores. A playback device is needed for getting sound output from Igor Engraver and for enabling computer keyboard note input, e.g. a software synth like Qsynth. In Debian and Debian based 64-bit systems MIDI support must be added with e.g. the following command in a terminal window:
/opt/cxoffice/bin/cxfix nonpulseaudioalsa nonpulseaudioalsa.amd64
