My most recent testing was on an OS X 10.6.8 Mac with CrossOver 12.0, and I couldn't get iCall 4.0 for Windows to run. The iCall website has prominent links to download ICall 7, and after some browsing around, I found what should have been an iCall 7 Windows version. Installation went well until I had to login, when it hung. (I know from installing and using the Mac version that my credentials are good.) I used Help | About iCall, and it indicated an installed version of, I believe, iCall (Windows) 4.0.0.22. I restarted the Mac software, and its major version is 7.
I speculate that the whole point of labelling something iCall 7 was to align its numbering with Windows 7, and since my browser and OS aren't detected as being Windows, I'm failing to automatically get iCall 7 for Windows (if it exists). What download links I found by browsing a bit more might link to an outdated version. When I have a Windows computer running, I may try downloading iCall for Windows, and see what version I get.
Meanwhile, because both Mac and Linux versions are available for download, there's little point in trying to make iCall 4.0 for Windows work with CrossOver on those platforms. The software's free to download.
The Overview for this app mentions Beta versions for Mac and Linux, which implies that the versions that are now available to download are fairly new - certainly newer than iCall 4.0.0.22 for Windows.
