Released or PC in 1996 by Accolade, Star Control 3 was developed by Legend Entertainment when the original developer declined to work on the project. This game takes a somewhat different direction from its predecessor in terms of game design and plays more like a real-time strategy game than an adventure game. The separate "melee battle" mode is still retained however and this time is presented from a pseudo-3D isometric viewpoint.
