SA-MP is a free, third-party modification for Grand Theft Auto:San Andreas with a following of thousands of loyal players. It allows the owners of GTA:SA to play with up to 200 other players from around the world on one server. Each server has its own custom gamemode, which is created using the PAWN scripting language.
