In Red Faction: Guerrilla, the player takes control of insurgent fighter Alec Mason, who joins the re-established Red Faction movement to free Mars from the once-liberator, now-oppressive Earth Defense Force. RF:G features physics-based destruction of buildings and other structures in a huge open-world environment. The player controls Alec from a third-person perspective and can use a supercharged sledgehammer, mining explosives, and a number of vehicles to destroy EDF property, along with more traditional guns to eliminate EDF troopers. Besides the story mode, the game includes a variety of multiplayer modes, including some based around the game's unique destruction engine (and yes, the Windows version includes the Ostrich Hammer).
