QFHSdatasearch Version 1.11 presents a generic interface for searching and managing genealogy databases. It has been developed by the Queensland Family History Society Inc.
The current version features field oriented and keyword searches, Boolean selection, sorting, and wildcard searches. It can be run in conjunction with databases on CDROMs or installed to hard disks, and has the capability of merging and managing large numbers of disparate data formats. The underlying data is held in a Microsoft Access database that is encrypted and password protected. For detailed information on QFHSdatasearch see Help/Contents.
QFHS is publishing a series of databases with QFHSdatasearch for searching. We are interested in making the search engine available to family history researchers wanting to publish databases for sale, and to family history groups for use internally with their own data. We would also consider working with groups to publish and market their databases.
