Paint Shop Pro 8 running on Mac OS 10.7, edited in PSP8
Zooming, Inport, Export, Painting, and Browsing!
Paint Shop Pro 8 installed flawlessly on Ubuntu 7.04 with KDE, and all indications were that it was going to run perfectly, too.
I could do everything I would normally do with a fresh install of PSP8--configure all the settings to my liking, add/change toolbars, customize menus, etc. Files opened with no problem and I could apply text and other changes to them.
However, ALL attempts to save a file (save, save as, etc.), yielded an error message:
"Internal program error: An invalid parameter has been passed to a function"
and then the app locks up completely.
Also, the "open file" function yields an odd-looking box (see screenshot) with four mystery buttons on top--you cannot make out what the text on the buttons says, and selecting them does things like sort the files, but does not navigate to other directories, so it's basically useless.
Bottom line: It LOOKS beautiful and, for the most part, runs great--except for the all-important part of being able to SAVE your work!
