A very fun 1st/3rd person 3D shooter that came out at Christmas, 1997. Takes place in expansive and interesting Heavy Gear Universe created by Dream Pod 9, and takes place around the year 6100 A.D. This Sci-Fi shooter allows you to pilot and customize Gears, Mecha with a human-like appearance and are usually bi-pedal. You can mix and match parts to customize your own Gear, and have multiple weapon systems equipped on each Gear. Even features an AI Box that comes with your Gear (and gets buried with you if you die), which improves the more you do an action, hence your guns get more accurate the more you use them and gets better at scanning, etc. Very intuitive gameplay, though hindered by a slightly odd control scheme almost similar to the Mechwarrior series.
