L4D Crashing some times

Any info will be good.
I just got L4D and some time when loading the games will Crash so far its only when loading.
its not to bad but I am getting tired of it.
its there is no fix I can live with it
here is some info if it helps

RESOLUTION 1024x768
anti aliasing none
wait for vertical sync disable
shader low
effect low
model/texture medium (I like high so I may go back to that)
multi core rendering disable
paged pool memory available medium
Computer
OS:Ubuntu 10.04 (lucid)
CPU:Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz HT
RAM:1506 MiB (1.5GB)
GPU:Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT 512 MB at 540 MHz
