Wow.. can't believe how well L4D runs

Quad core MP w/ 8800GT.. 1920x1080 res full screen.. Snow w/ COG 8.0. The only thing that doesn't work is AA, but meh - no big deal. Couple artificats here or there and the full screen haze is a bit different (probably earlier shader or compatibility), but pretty solid 60+ fps.

The only thing I really need to do is fix the mouse - the inconsistent acceleration curve OSX uses really makes twitch gaming difficult.

how do you get 60+ fps?

i got a macbook pro 9400 and 9600 gt 512mb with 4gb ram Intel 2.53ghz dual core and barely getting 20+fps on 1024 resolution with settings set to medium.

L4D runs ok via Steam on my macbook. Jittery though. I'd guess it has a very low frame rate and seems laggy. I reckon it needs the Pro graphics card to be usable.

The 9600 is a decently weak gfx card performance wise.

I am interested as to if you did anything special to get this FPS... I am running an nVidia 260m (which benches higher than the 8800 desktop card) and I see around 30 fps.

True, but in Windows with the 9600 I can run L4D at 1440x900 at max settings with 2x AA and 8xAF. In Crossover Games 8.0, however, I can barely run on all low settings at 1440x900. I'd give the game a silver rating for effort, but I'm going to hold off for now. Maybe it'll get better in the future.

It's runs quite badly on my MBP with 9600m GT too.
Not only is the framerate low, the ping is about 100ms higher than wen running in native Windows Vista.
