Installs semi-fine but does not start

Using Mac OS X 10.5.8 and Crossover 8.0

First try:

I downloaded the (Windows XP) installation package from Microsoft and run the installer as an unsupported application. The basic installation works fine, but it fails to do a Windows Update, which I thought was pretty normal.

The Program does not install itself in the Program menu, even though I do a complete rebuild and it it refuses to start even when I try to start it "manually" by doubleclicking on the iexpore.exe

I will retry and experiment a bit, if I find anything interesting I will post it here.

Same thing for me. It looks like it installs, but then I can launch the app.
