Adobe Audition

I've waited a while for cross over for mac just to run adobe audition 1.5. i was really skeptical at first as audition wasn't in the list of apps tried and tested. i gave it a worl, it installed quite quickly, and opened with no problem at all, but didn't have a splash screen. when it loaded, i opened the demo multitrack song in seconds, and to my amazement it played without a single click, stutter or pop!. then i opened one of my shows (i work on radio) it was a four hour recording in MP3, it opened in around 3 minutes and played without a glitch. I then tried out some of the effects and they all seem to work ok.
The only issue i have found on first try is that there is no audio in support, just output, so for now i will give it a silver, but that maybe premature until i have given it a full trial, i'll keep you posted.

I'm running audition 1.5 with Crossover for Mac beta Version 6.0b1 (6.0.0b1) on a Macbook intel core duo with 1 gig of RAM.

Hope this helps, i'll update as soon as i can.

Shawzy 😏

I was really encouraged by Shawzy's report so I gave it a go too. Adobe Audition is the ONLY reason I still have to resort to Windows sometimes. It's not just that I prefer it to other sound editors (which I do) but also, I teach it.

Anyway, it installed in CrossOver just fine and initially, things looked good. The demo multitrack played ok and I was able to open, play and edit various wav and mp3 files. Sadly, almost straight way, I began to get little stalls and stutters in the playback. I tried altering some the the playback buffer settings in Audition but to no avail. This is disappointing as I think I'm running a similar machine to Shawzy but with more RAM.

Yes, there's no audio input yet but I could live with that as I have other ways of getting audio into my Mac - it's just that I really wanted to use Audition.

This is so very close to running well. I really hope it gets there. There are users on the Audition forums who are longing to run their favourite sound editing app on their Macs.

I'm running Audition 1.5 with CrossOver for Mac version 6.0 beta2 on a MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo with 2GB of RAM

radiodave

I'm running Adobe Audition on CrossOver 7 (MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core Duo, 4GB RAM), and it works great. Dialogue boxes are cut off near the bottom, but visually everything else looks great and functions well. I can indeed record into it as well. Soon I'm hoping to be able to use Audition 3 - last time I tested it wouldn't install, but I hope to test it again with the new CrossOver 7.1 release.

Hello guys, i m very glad to hear that Audition works ... cause i m having difficulties to install it. My audition programm is an EXE file, so i don t have an installation cd itself. So i go and select this file, but after "installing it" and rebooting, "the installation exits", and just give me a log file adress. Doesn t install ... why that ? tks
