Aegisub

Aegisub is a free and open source advanced subtitle editor. Aegisub natively works with the Advanced SubStation Alpha format (aptly abbreviated ASS) which allows for many advanced effects in the subtitles, apart from just basic timed text. Aegisub's goal is to support using these advanced functions with ease. Functions include: typesetting with colors, outlining effects like flashing and fading text positioning and more... The software was created with anime subbing in mind. It comes in English, Portuguese, French, Russian, Spanish, German, Danish, Korean, Italian, Catalan and Hungarian.
