We have found that OpenSolaris in a virtual machine is a non starter with the CrossOver unsupported build.
In VirtualBox, the fact that mmap() is far slower than on 'real' iron, coupled with Wine's need to call
mmap a zillion times, essentially makes CrossOver unusable on Virtual Box. (It works, just takes a half
hour to create a bottle, and an extra minute for every Wine startup).
We can't report what we found on VMWare, because we never got OpenSolaris working right in VMWare.
The bottom line is - if you're not on real hardware, you may not get any joy with this build.
Cheers,
Jeremy
