I am using parallells today to work with our business system that requires windows, then I heard of crossover which seams like a better way of doing it, but my business system is not supported plus it requires .net framework to function, does anyone know how I get around this problem?
Supposedly CrossOver 8 will support .Net framework programs. However stick with Parallels or VMware, the fact that IE7 isn't even supported yet tells me that CrossOver is WAY WAY behind the curve when it comes to serious Windows emulation. Most bottles are still primarily Win98, that ought to tell you something right there.
I'm uninstalling Crossover 7.1.0 as we speak, because frankly its WinXP emulation hasn't progressed in 2 years and between no .NET support and other things, it says to me, that CrossOver isn't worth the aggravation. It certainly isn't a serious corporate solution, at least not for me.
I consider it a very poor attempt, even the open source Wine project does a better job at supporting more Windows frameworks and components that CrossOver (which is essentially a commercial WINE implementation).
I'm seriously disappointed in CrossOver's lack of any serious progress in the last 2+ years. So off it goes, its not worth the effort, in my opinion.
Cheers,
Peter
