When I try to install a particular unsupported app the installer freezes. Is it possible/likely that changing the Linux distribution might improve my chances of success? I am currently using Ubuntu 8.04 but have no particular attachment to it.
The app in question is specific to the insurnace industry, fax@vantage by Applied Systems Inc.
The installer wasn't freezing the screen just didn't repaint when advancing from the first to second screen of the install. Having figured that out I am now left with the problem of needing MSSQL database for the program to work properly. I'm going to attempt to use MYSQL or another alternative but the app is requesting MSSQL.
