System shock 2 just wont work

Any get it to work? it installs and acts like the world is good, but once i get it installed completely and go to open it, the icon appears, chills for about 5 seconds, then just quits. boo.
How do i get this AMAZING game to work!!

Noah,

Same problem. The SS2 icon appears on the lower bar for a few seconds. There can be a Win98 window if set in preferences. Then it goes away and quits. This is a straight install. Have not tried loading DCOM98 first. Tried booting in Win95 also. No go.
