UPDATE as of this morning, I attempted to install the Pre-WindowsXP Direct X and it installed with no issue. I ran the Modern DirectX setup and it worked perfectly.
maybe there was a hinky DLL somewhere that got upgraded? Or maybe the computer needed a time out LOL.

I was trying to install Direct X to a new Crossover bottle that I created (Windows7 64bit)
I am getting an error message "an Internal Error has occurred"
checking my logs I found the following:
