I know version 14 is "Yosemite compatible" but will version 13 work on the new OS X version? I have no need for the new bells and whistles (and games) and ver. 13 meets my needs on Mavericks. Can I continue to use it on Yosemite?

Yes; 13.1.2 runs well on my OSX 10.10
Crossover 13 does run on Yosemite, but it opens annoying "bin" folders on the dock while running. It is harmless but annoying.
On the other hand, if you plan to run Metatrader then don't upgrade to version 14 yet, because there is an open bug of Metatrader not running on Crossover 14.0.0.
There might be issues with other programs that I don't know about (I only use Metatrader) so check the forum for reported bugs on the programs you use before upgrading.
