Every game with 4 or 5 stars I have tried has audio glitches and/or audio clipping when music plays. I am guessing this is due to Crossover having issue decoding compressed audio. WAV based audio does not seem to have this issue.
I have a fully maxed out M3 iMac. While not the most powerful Mac ever. It still should be able to play Quake and UT without audio glitches.😭
Apple Silicon seems to be giving Crossover some hard tests.
There is information on manipulating the WINE configuration for glitchy audio and is perhaps applicable to many other games that issues that are being persistent on the CX 24 version.
I’m still learning about all this.
But there are a number of posts on the forums. “ Glitchy audio” keyword
I tried to play a game from the Windows 7 era (scratches) and the same thing happened. The gameplay is fine, but the audio is clipping.
