I am currently evaluating CrossOver 23.7.1 on my M2 Mac with the intend of purchasing it if I can play Shadow Tactics (which is a Unity Engine game).
The game generally runs very well with D3DMetal (smooth framerates, no graphics issues). However, one very major problem occurs: Ingame dialogue and certain sound effects have noticeable crackling and distortion, which makes the experience very unenjoyable (the game has quite a lot of dialogue). Sound during menus and cutscenes as well as the music play fine, it's just certain types of ingame sounds which are affected.
I have so far tried to play around with the sample rate of my audio device and lowering graphics settings, all to no avail.
I can play the game in Parallels without these issues... however, some graphical glitches occur and performance is worse, so I would much rather play the game in CrossOver.
This information on manipulating the WINE configuration for glitchy audio is perhaps applicable to many other games that issues that are being persistent on the CX 24 version.
