I am trying to install an update file (best description for it) into a program that runs very well and has not had any issues when installing these files in the past. This file happens to be 2.56 GB (the largest file I've tried thus far), and when I try to install into the bottle that contains the program, I get an "Out of Memory" error. Is this a setting I can adjust in Crossover to allocate more memory? On the Mac? I have tried in Crossover 16 on a 2007 Mac running 10.8 and in a trial of Crossover 21 (with 12 days to go) on a 2017 Mac running 10.15 with the same results. The program is Campaign Cartographer 3+, and it is the 2020 Annual content I am struggling with. Every other install has been seamless (CD3+, DD3+, PER3+, and 4 other annuals plus random content). Any help would be appreciated.
Looks like a 32-bit. The info says Wine Gecko (32-bit). It is a Windows 10 bottle, for sure. I could certainly try a 64-bit bottle. I'll let you know if it works. Thanks.
Probably not the issue, but have you tried downloading the update again from the publisher's website? Could be a corrupted download. And, yes, please use a Win 7 or 10 64-Bit bottle from now on.
Well, it turns out that it must have been the file size or a bad file (though I downloaded it several times and even looked up others not on Crossover who may have complained about the download file) . . . who can say for sure . . . but the site owner sent me the thirteen smaller files that make up the one large one, and they all installed individually just fine. If it is a file size issue, I hope that CodeWeavers looks into it and tries to find a way for either users to adjust the memory size of the bottle or just makes an overall increase in the memory size of bottles in general. Crossover is a great program with so much ease of use and potential that it seems a shame to have that kind of limitation. Let's be honest, program files are not getting smaller. Thanks for all your input, Andreas.
