Hey there,
I'm brand new to Crossover and just downloaded and paid for a license this week. I'm trying to get Diablo IV to run on my Macbook M4 Max via Crossover and Steam.
I've been unsuccessful after 3 attempts now.
Here's the issues:
The bottle always shows as missing dependencies, and when I try to install them it turns out that it is just Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86) and every time it says "Setup Failed". So that dependency never installs.
I am still able to launch Steam, however, and install Diablo IV into my bottle. However, every time I try to launch Diablo IV, it shows the game as "Running" but literally nothing happens. The game doesn't actually seem to start ever.
I have tried deleting and reinstalling the bottle 3 times now. Every time the same result.
Hi there, if no one answers you as this is User to User and not official support use the link at the top of this page that says "Contact Us" You get full support and they are pretty good about getting back to you! :) I'll try a new install of Steam and see what I get.
Hello, and apologies for the late response. I just installed 2 successful bottles, shut CO down reopened, and installed 1 more they all worked the C++ variables need to have the checkbox checked in the window to install. I'm not saying you didn't but it's easy to click the button that doesn't install them. Both installs for it have a check box on the left. That's the only thing I can think of accidental clicks. You can uninstall CO completely with their guide, redownload and install, and give it a go in case something is up with CO.
Before you make a blanket statement without citing any sources about "They broke it" No, it's not broken I've been playing from 24.0.7 -> all betas -> to -> RC's -> to the final v.25. I only lost the ability when b.net went down last year due to a patch. That happens from time to time it's not CO's fault. I have the game open as I type this. Swapping characters, turning my screen orange from my Sorcerer, and mobs with no lag.
So again please don't just come on and start slamming something because it doesn't work for you with a blanket statement "They broke it". How was it broken elaborate on that because if you can cite those things we can try to help each other troubleshoot them. If you think it's broken and own the latest v.25 submit a ticket, you have full application support. But I would like to see what's up before you submit a ticket and come back to help the rest of us with any knowledge you may acquire! :)
What settings are you using?
What else if anything is in the bottle?
Did you mod CO in any way with something unsupported (not accusing just asking a basic question)
I've also done a fresh bottle install using the crosstie within CO. B.net installed fine, 45% only lasted maybe 10 seconds if that. Everything else is installed and is working.
If you're getting a missing dependencies error, please try going to CrossOver > Settings > Installer Assistant and clear the installer cache and try installing again.
You'll also need to enable Esync or Msync under "Synchronization" options in the right sidebar of CrossOver.
After switching to MSync, it seems like it's working. Is there some documentation somewhere on when to use MSync vs ESync? Also which graphics setting is the best to use?
I haven't modified Crossover at all, this is a fresh install, first time truly using it. I did download an older version of Crossover maybe 1-2 years ago but never actually tested it from what I remember.
Meredith, I tried clearing the installer file cache, but I am still getting the same dependency error for Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable which is specifically error 0x80070666 - Another version is installed
Still, it does seem now like the game is running!
