When installing Diablo IV, it gets through the process of installing Battle.net and then installing the game, but the CrossOver install routine doesn't complete. Eventually, it comes up with an error (that I forgot to screenshot) that says to cancel or skip what seems to be the step of installing additional dependencies. As is, the game acts like it's running but does nothing when I click "Play."
This is on a Mac Studio M3 Ultra, and I've tried multiple times with the same result. I can't find any permissions or anything other issues that are causing problems. Has anyone else seen this and has a solution?
It's not broken It's working 100% for me still through 24.0.7 -> 25 Betas - > 25 RCs -> final 25.
There was a small outage when Blizz updated b.net and while it was down I was helping them by sending logs after logs after logs to get it back up and running. It was fixed. But that wasn't CO's fault.
I just not too long ago made a crosstie of a successful install of b.net for another user in Discord. Gave them a link they installed it with no problem.
This is the second posting I"ve had to repeat this info. If it's broken, maybe post some info to help other users maybe get it running for you instead of just making blanket statements. And you can always submit a ticket. If you do that route please for the rest of us post your ticket response so we can all learn more and be able to help each other out! :)

There's at least 4 independent people complaining on the forums that it's broken and here you are trying to gaslight people into blaming themselves or blizzard (which it has nothing to do with since Diablo 4 works fine without Crossover and has no outage recently that you mentioned). You're just making up excuses.
Your example is a bottle created with previous versions of crossover. Maybe post a working example created using the latest crossover instead of gas lighting and blaming users.
Ok, let's start here "which it has nothing to do with since Diablo 4 works fine without Crossover (then fine go play it and prove me wrong I'd love to learn your method and that's the truth no sarcasm I really would like to know what you did to get it working!) and has no outage recently that you mentioned" No, it doesn't work on the Mac without CO unless you are using another method of which there are a couple so post it (make sure it's reliable and remember this is CODEWEAVERS forum and not this mystery method you have) and post how to get it working so people can GAME that's the point. Unless you are a PC user ya kinda need CO to run it or Steam which you still need a b.net account for. (or see my previous statement about other methods).
I was stating and admit I should have been a bit more specific, that the only time I couldn't play was when b.net WAS (the key operative word) down this happened in v.24 I should have been more specific in the info so please excuse me for that.
I don't mind sharing my crosstie that's not the issue, but I'm not just going to throw up a link to my Google Drive, I don't even do that on Discord unless I'm helping an individual. Jacob, with your all mighty knowledge, ya can have fun trying to figure this out on your own, seeing as you know all about how CO broke it, well help them (Codeweavers) fix it and be a part of the solution and not the problem. As far as I'm concerned just do what you should do and submit a ticket for official help instead of coming here where users HELP users instead of throwing out negative statements with no facts.
Now just for the heck of it, I installed CO 25, then my crosstie of battle.net I then ran the battle.net update that happened after I made the bottle, and everything launched fine, I'm currently installing D4 at 100 MB/S. at the moment as I write this 30% (also this mac has NEVER had CO 25 on it and when I had 24 on it I used the official CO removal tool to make sure no traces of CO were present) This Mac is an M1 Mini 16gb RAM. I don't expect it to run due to the system specs but if I can install it as I am then clearly a different method of install may be warranted.
If you're having trouble installing Diablo IV, please try going to CrossOver > Settings > Installer Assistant and clear the installer cache and try again.
If that still doesn't work, please submit a ticket for further assistance!
I'm really struggling to figure out what you're doing here? You created this account about 1 minute before your first post, you really need a refresher on the definition of gaslighting since you're using it very incorrectly, and I don't see you've ever downloaded a CrossOver trial, so you're either using a cracked version or you've never used CrossOver and you're still here commenting for some reason? In any case, please stop.

I can see this is a very privacy-focused company (sarcasm) when your paid moderators are doxing users by IP to try to ridicule them. How very mature of you.
I'm just here to prove that Diablo 4 is broken since even Andrew Tsai, one of your major supporters, has said that it's broken. Instead, there's trolls on the forum saying bs like "oh but if you use these custom configurations and jump through all these hoops, then of course it works!". Very customer-hostile if you ask me.
I, for one, don't even know this person you are talking about, nor do I care (I don't use YT usually). All I can tell you is it works just fine I just had a 2 hour marathon of playing. I can play seasonal and production. I even did an update to the b.net with no problems. I'm not making this stuff up just to aggravate you that's NOT my goal. My goal with all the info above was to help, but you gave me attitude because some YouTubers can't get it to work that's all well and good. I'm sitting on a working copy as I write this. I just picked up a Crucial two TB Fast as heck USB-C drive. I reinstalled the bottle that I had made and then installed Diablo. It's working I don't know what else to do I'll see if I can do a YT video. Let me get a video of me launching it to prove to you that it does work... If that'll satisfy you. Standby for video.
Aw man I just wanted to share my disappointment here, not blaming anyone, it is just my fault not listening to my experience with PC/Windows gaming.
Same issue here - I was so close buying Crossover since Elden Ring and Steam just work fine.
But this whole Battle.net thing seems to be a completely different story with Crossover. I had those network related issues that you can find all over forums and reddit, where certain downloads only work with specific network configurations, so for me I could only install certain parts with my smartphone's mobile hotspot. Even on Windows people seem to have those issues, so I shouldn't even blame Crossover here. I got over all those issues and finally downloaded the game and now it just won't start. Diablo4.exe running in Activity Monitor, Battle.net says I'm "playing", but no game and no error message. Maybe I'll get it work with more googling and doing some workarounds, but I just don't wanna have to do that all the time.
Man - a month ago I got back to my PS4 Pro a bit and played some games and was so close buying Elden Ring and Diablo 4 there. I know the graphics and performance is much worse there, but I should have done that, maybe even buying a PS5.
This whole Windows gaming thing is imho just a huge and costly tragedy with problems that didn't really change since the 90s.
To be fair Jacob, the tweaks and adjustments are there to make specific software work. If you don't understand, it seems there is help readily available here. Not everything is going to work straight off the bat, because not everything is designed the same way.```
Did you log a ticket, did you post in the discord channel by any chance ?. It's hard to say what the issue is or how to fix it without being provided some details about your setup.I have set up Diablo IV on multiple systems using Crossover in v23, v24 and v25. I did have an issue with battle.net twice. Both times it turned out to be a Blizzard issue. Sometimes it just takes a while if their servers are acting up.

How did I doxx you?! I did not share any identifying information and I did not use your IP address; I simply looked up the account that you made to start posting here.
You didn't prove anything, and since you don't even use CrossOver, you don't have any stake here. We're not customer-hostile, but I'm definitely troll-hostile. If you keep this up, I'll disable your account.

Hi Timo,
You can trying enabling Esync or Msync in the right sidebar of your bottle. Those are found in the Synchronization dropdown.
If you follow these forums I have had "issues" with Diablo IV but only since the Vessel of Hatred update. Before that it ran fine on my first M1 (8GB Ram) and then M3 iMac (16GB Ram). The almost constant "updates" are annoying - meaning many times that I start the game and many times when I quit the game - but they don't take more than a minute usually and don't effect the game play. I do still get a "freezing/slowdown" if I play for a while and do a lot of transporting or entering/exiting dungeons but not as often as it used to be. (Don't have to have macOS force quit Diablo IV as often as used to happen, usually ESC will get me back to the menus.)
Now, whether these are Battlenet/Diablo IV VOF issues or Crossover I cannot say as I don't have a Windows machine and Parallels/Windows 11 still doesn't properly support DirectX 12 Ultimate apparently so the game will install but not run at all.
I came here with the exact same problem, using Blizzard installer and not steam, looking for a solution and i got it working for me.
The crossover installation wizard does not seem to register when the D4 Installation is complete with the Blizzard Launcher.
I am not saying this is the same for everyone, as it seems to work for other people without issue, but for me, this was the issue.
I am new to Macbook and my first time using Crossover, so please forgive me if I do not use the correct naming conventions etc
My current setup:
Macbook M4 Pro
Sequoia 15.4
Crossover 25.0.0.38553
What I did to get it working
I installed D4 from crossover launcher
For the Installer option, I selected "let crossover download the installer", I don't own D4 on Steam
During the installation there were various pop up's to install apps, I installed all of those
I then installed the Blizzard Launcher, logged on, but did not install any games
I closed the Blizzard Launcher, not minimized, and waited a little bit and an error popped up saying D4 has not installed and it gave me 3 options
I selected "skip", this finished the cross over install process and I was left with the "bottle" with only the Blizzard launcher showing
I then launched the Blizzard launcher from the crossover UI and installed the game
I tried to play the game when it was fully downloaded, and the Blizzard Launcher says "Playing" but nothing has loaded
I went to the crossover bottle settings, quit all applications and changed the following two settings:
Graphics : D3DMetal
Synchronization : ESync
I can now play the game
I hope this helps you
Congrats on getting things setup. Before Step 9 did you leave the bottle settings at "Auto" (for Graphics) and Msync (for Synchronisation). If so then the game should have launched. Esync is ok but for a Mac Msync is usually slightly better
Also - you can check the Compatibility centre for game bottle settings. That might come in handy if you have other games to setup in Crossover.
