In 24.0.7 Skyrim was working perfectly with my PS5 DualSense controller.

I've just got a new Mac so I installed 25 on it and copied the Steam bottle across with no issues, but for some reason my PS5 controller isn't working at all on Skyrim. It works fine on Hogwarts Legacy in the same bottle (the only other game I tried).

I've tried creating a fresh Steam bottle in 25 and still no luck with the controller. I'm not really sure what else to do other than try 24.0.7 on the new Mac, which wouldn't be ideal. Can I even run 2 versions of Crossover on the same Mac?

I'm finding Crossover 25 pretty buggy with my PS4 controller. Ended up using an xBox Series controller instead and it works much better.

Thankfully you can have both Crossover 24 and 25 installed at the same time. I'm currently using 24 for GTA 4 & 5 with a PS4 Controller (as GTA isn't working on 25 for me), and 25 for RDR2 with an xBox Series controller. A bit clunky but hopefully as 25 gets developed so will its support for PS controllers and GTA.

There's some suggested controller setting changes for PS controllers on 25 but none are working for me!

I have CrossOver 25 trial version. PS5 controller is not detected in any game. It works fine in Whisky. I considered buying CrossOver to get the latest Wine but it seems I'm sticking to Whisky for now.

Many games do not support wired Sony controllers on Windows, but they used to work through CrossOver Mac because Wine treated them as Xbox controllers. Starting with Wine 10/CrossOver 25, Sony controllers are now correctly detected, which means we are now better matching Windows behavior and advanced Sony controller features now work, but that also means that games that don't support Sony controllers on Windows no longer work on CrossOver either.

To get back to CrossOver 24 behavior, you can open the "Game Controllers" control panel on the right side of CrossOver and check the "Disable hidraw" option. You'll need to restart your bottle for the setting to take effect.

Thanks, Meredith! I'd tried the disable hidraw setting but hadn't restarted the bottle afterwards. Doing both this time solved the problems I'd been having. Much simpler than swapping over to an Xbox controller for me. Thank you!
