Hi
I have an older Windows application installed in .cxoffice for which there are updates in .exe format. Is it possible to run these within the bottle ?

I would say, try it and see, but make a backup copy of the bottle first. Might need to add some things to the bottle, windows installer or some dlls. Share the result!
Yes! To run an .exe file, right-click the bottle name and select "execute command"!
Watch out for viruses!
Good luck!

Hi John,
I think they didn't read properly what you asked for. You do have an existing bottle created (and running) in CrossOver. First to tell you 'YES' you can add updates to this program as long as you have the physical .exe files on your computer.
Here is what you should do:
The easiest is to have these [update] files all in the same folder (e.g. Downloads), then
Step 1 - Open CrossOver, and highlight (NOT execute) the bottle with your installed program.
Step 2 - Move your mouse over the selected bottle and click the RIGHT mouse button.
Step 3 - A menu pops up. Select from this menu [Install Software into <your bottle name>].
Step 4 - You will be asked, like in an original first installation, to select the installation file.
Step 5 - Go to the folder where the updates (.exe) are and select one to install). It will be added to the existing bottle and update the program. If you have several updates sitting there and each one does not include the former updates too, as some older programs do, then you need to install all updates one by one, beginning with the oldest. Otherwise you can just use the latest one.
I have a few programs which get regular updates and do it all the time. That should solve your problems. :)
