Hi. I've been enjoying CrossOver a lot, especially since the last couple of updates. There are games that run almost like they were native to Mac, such as Final Fantasy VII Remake. However, there are other games such as Resident Evil 2 and 3 (Remake) that have very specific issues. For example, I tried using CXPatcher, and even though the games crash after cutscenes, they run really great. I was wondering if it's in the plans of CrossOver to support these games. They are very popular and their technical problems must be very specific (since they crash at very specific points). For example, with RE2R, there's a cutscene inside the Police Station that makes Wine crash. Similarly, with RE3R, the same crash happens after Jill leaves her apartment. Other than that, the games run great!
The games crash during cutscenes because the games use proprietary video codecs that we can't make use of for legal reasons :/ We won't be able to fix that issue.

Hi. I'm back. I'm glad to be here. I love video games. But I'm mostly an old-school fan, GTA, Flat Out, Stalker, Counter Strike. Of course, now I don't have much time to play all of them, but recently I wanted to be nostalgic and decided to Download CS 1.6 Non Steam. So to speak, to remember my childhood. Now my wife can't pull me away from the computer.
I'm still surprised at how far the crossover team has come in such a very short span of time .As Capcom has talked about implementing even more stricter and complex DRM restrictions on their games in the future. Unless of course, they are ported natively.
The Crossover development team has really done a great job of allowing Windows apps and games to run on macOS and Linux. As for Capcom's announcement of stricter DRM restrictions, that may be a challenge, but Crossover is usually quick to respond to such changes with compatibility and support.
