The issue I keep running into is the "GPU Shader Compilation" sequence during game startup. I'm running the latest versions of MacOS, Crossover, and the game, but still the graphics go on the fritz once the long startup is complete.
Has anyone gotten this game to work on their mac? I'm running an M2 Pro macmini.

It's not in the compatibility database. Which settings have you tried in Crosover? It's a DX12 game so it should run best with D3DMetal.

I've attempted to run it using both D3DMetal and DXVK. Alas, the graphics still glitch out. Even with everything at their lowest settings.
I got lucky with a similar 4x game (Millenia), which wasn't in the compatibility database and runs fine (excellent even, when D3DMetal is on). So I tried to roll the dice with Ara, given that by nature these 4x games are not graphically intensive anyway. Unfortunately it still seems to be a no-go in terms of getting the "gpu shaders compilation" to pass.
From what I understand they are using their own graphics engine. I had a person who was working on the game here at my house all summer last year and the year before. He was a freelancer but I just remember him saying something along those lines. That may be why it's not working.
From my research that is true: "Dan Baker about creating the Nitrous Engine, which is the developer's in-house engine that will be used in Ara."

I see. Well I guess it makes sense that it would be a bit tougher to get working then. Hopefully a future update will allow for a fix
