Problems with The Orange Box

I know there are many, many topics on this, but I can't find a solution wherever I look.

I'm running the latest build of Crossover Games (7.2.1) and using a 2008 black macbook (2.4ghz, 2GB RAM, X1300 graphics card).

Whenever I play a game, I experience random crashes almost immediately into a game. in portal, it usually occurs around turrets. In TF2, it's usually in the first 5 minutes of a game. And I can't even get past the opening movie in Half-Life 2.

I'm using DirectX 8 for all of these, as well as running them windowed at a lower resolution with minimum settings. I've tried putting in all manner of configeration commands, but nothing works.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?

There's a known problem with CrossOver Games 7.2.x and the X3100 GPUs (and possibly 10.5.6+). Our best recommendation for now is to revert to CrossOver Games 7.1.x for the time being. We hope to get this issue resolved for the next significant release of CrossOver Games.

Huh, I didn't notice anyone had replied.

Well, I took your recommendation, and the problem persists, even in 7.1.1. Everything freezes after a while, usually in the first few minutes of play. I have no idea what the problem could be, if it isn't the memory leak in 7.2.x.

There is a similar leak in 7.1 but it is slower. If you are getting the problem so quickly you are probably running at really high graphics settings. Try lower ones.

Otherwise it sounds like an unrelated problem to the memory leak.

All settings are as low as they can go, and have been all the way through this. It must be a different problem to the memory leak.

I'm seen people with identical laptops running this in high res. I just can't think of what could be causing it.
