Am trying to install a game though the origin client and am getting insufficient disk space messages and can't install. My mac has 300+GB of free disk space. Any one know what's happening???

macOS ignores local Time Machine backups when calculating free space, however other third-party applications will see actual free space this includes the local Time Machine backups.
Try this to clear out the local Time Machine snapshots.
I do this regularly after deleting a bottle.
Thanks for the info everyone, i have used OnyX to clear out the snapshots and the issue has now been resolved. It's an excellent app for routine maintenance as well.
