I'm a new user of crossover 22, MacBook Pro 14', Monterey.
I need to install autostakkert, windows software for astrophotography.
i create a new bottle and select the app (no installer) in my download folder.
bottle is created, autostakker is launched and I can use it, but crossover's progress bar of installation freeze in the middle : if I quit autostakker, installation ends but the bottle is empty, or I have to cancel installation.
do you have any idea of how ending the installation?
Both of you should be able to run the executable without performing an “installation”.
Create your bottle. Then use “Run Command…” to create a launcher. Just get to where you can click on the RUN button, but don’t. Instead, choose “Save Command as Launcher” and then after you see the launcher icon appear in your main Crossover window, click the CANCEL button. You can then double-click on the launcher icon you just created to run the program, or you can drag that down to your Dock if you’d like to click on it there instead of in the main Crossover window,
You don’t even have to move the executable file into the bottle. You can, but you can leave it in some other directory if that’s more convenient for you.
