Alright, so the application I am trying to use is admittedly unsupported. It is called Project64 and is used to emulate N64 games, for those who don't know. So, what I've found it that when I installed it with regular CrossOver, my controller driver for mac worked correctly and the application recognized my controller. However, now at a later date, I have installed the application with CrossOver Games and the controller is no longer recognized.
In theory, I could just install it as before and it will probably work, but I'd like to see if there is a solution first because I have another emulator with the same issue that only operates correctly under CrossOver Games. So, has anyone encountered a similar problem? Is this an issue with any games as well?
I've never encountered this particular problem, but it doesn't sound so strange. The current version of Crossover Games (7.2) and the current version of Crossover Standard/Pro (8.0) are built off of two pretty different versions of wine. CX Games 7.2 has an older wine codebase in it, and also represents a branch isolated some time ago from CX Standard. Since you're dealing with unsupported games, it's not too surprising that you've seen success with Standard, and not with Games, and then vice versa for another emulator.
Have you tried the emulator that works correctly under CX Games in Crossover standard?
I have. That is what I've decided to do with that particular one. I have software that allows me to map keystrokes to buttons, so it isn't a huge deal, but I like the native support so I'm just running that one through crossover. The other emulator only function properly in crossover games, so I've decided to use the controller profiler for that one. Thanks for the response though, I was wondering why it would be so different, but now that I know that they are built off of different wine versions it makes a lot more sense.
Thanks.
