Hello all,
Two Winlink (1.7.2) issues on Crossover 22.0.1 on Big Sur:
-
Crash on startup. If you use Crossover’s application installation ”recipe” for Winlink, I also had to run ”Setting bottle’s language to English (US)”, otherwise Winlink would crash due to a locale related exception at startup. If Crossover folks see this, maybe add that to the Winlink installation dependencies?
-
Crash after setting radio frequency. Whenever I set the frequency of a radio, Winlink crashes with an exception c0000005. The radio changes its frequency so the com port works just fine (like it does with other apps I use with Crossover), but immediately after changing, Winlink crashes.
I would like to know if others have the same problem and whether you have found any workaround or even have a hunch where the issue might be. The exception hints to a memory access issue, so my wild guess is that something in Wine returns something to Winlink that is not of a correct size.
There was an earlier message mentioning radio access problems (https://www.codeweavers.com/support/forums/general/?t=27;mhl=244717;msg=244717#c3) which may be the same one.
I also opened a thread on the Winlink mailing list https://groups.google.com/g/winlink-programs-group/c/rGetObf0GR8/m/XX6vSe9PAQAJ in case someone there has insight.
