I got a USB DAC and it works perfectly well with my Debian install for all other audio except for when I'm playing WoW (and just discovered today, also Hearthstone).
I get a weird endless echo issue when using the DAC, but it's fine through the built-in audio from my motherboard.
Anyone have any suggestions for what I can do as far as Crossover is concerned? Thank you in advance.
An endless echo seems like an open mic issue to me, at least superficially, or maybe some recording device being set to record the outgoing sink.
Other than that, I know there's a "latency offset" setting in pavucontrol (for pulse audio). An echo could possibly result from a latency issue, but I'm not sure on that one either.
I've never had anything similar in any games, so I'm pretty much in the dark.

So, I was able to solve this problem by making a change in /etc/pulse/deamon.conf
I happened to come across a forum post somewhere else that mentioned sound issues with games in Wine and viola, the fixed work. Simply set the following in /etc/pulse/deamon.conf:
default-fragment-size-msec=5
Hopefully this will work for anyone having issues with an external DAC.
