Is there any way to run "Loom" or "The Dig" in Steam?

I have just downloaded "Loom" and "The Dig" for Steam and when I try to launch them... nothing happens (it shows the "Preparing to launch..." window, but that's it)!
They both work on my ancient (from 2002) PC.
Any idea?

Odd, these should just be using DOSbox to run. Other games such as DOOM use DOSbox and run fine. I don't have them in my games list to confirm though.

I don't know about DOSbox (which I've never used), but I'm thinking they should run in ScummVM.
The only thing was that I downloaded them in Steam and thought I might need to run them in Steam which requires CrossOver Games to run on my Mac.
Maybe I'm trying too hard to get everything to run in CrossOver when other options are available!

We checked, they are using a port of their own, it is not using ScummVM.

LOOM does run for us. But, it more than likely needs a "Visual Studio 2005" runtime. Download and install both of these into your Steam bottle.

I just downloaded and installed those files and both games appear to work (I don't have time to play right now, as I'm going back to work, but I launched the games and reached their intros without a hitch).
Thank you!

Update: I have now tried both games for a few minutes and they run just great (if not full screen). Would you mind if I posted your advice in the Tips & Tricks section of the games?
