Crossover quit unexpectedly & missing files

Hello!

I wasn't sure what the community standard was, so I submitted a ticket, but I realize I haven't used the thread either.

So I just got the free trial a few hours ago on my Mac OS Ventura. Everything was working fine until I wanted to download a game from Steam. I wanted to download the game onto an external hard drive, so I tried redirecting the Crossover folder from my machine to the drive. But somehow the files were lost. I have absolutely no idea what happened. Everything is gone, and I can't open Crossover. I get the "Crossover has quit unexpectedly" message. Perhaps, if the problem is the missing files (C-Library, etc.), I wonder if I can get new ones? I don't even know. I tried deleting and reinstalling another Crossover app and still got the same error. Please help, thank you.

Most likely an issue with symbolic links somewhere. You have a file or folder pointing to somewhere that now doesn't exist. I would try this and reinstalling. https://macsecurity.net/view/541-create-remove-symlink-mac

I'm very grateful for your reply, thank you. Looking at the article, are you saying I should try to delete my current simlink? Also, I should not that I am able to see my Crossover files in my terminal but not on my Finder. Does that change anything?

Yes, the problem was the simlink, I'm not longer getting the crashing message, thank you!

Do you have advice for how to direct the Steam game to install on my hard drive?
