Bundling Windows .exe into a Mac .app

Hello,

I have an .NET app that I have managed to get running inside of CrossOver. I am wondering how I can bundle this app (along with all its dependencies) so it can work in a standalone .app structure in MacOS.

Has anyone done this before? Is it possible and is there any documentation/resources to assist?

Thank you for your help!

Hi there,

That's our paid PortJump service: https://www.codeweavers.com/portjump

Best,
Meredith

Meredith is steering you in the right direction, PortJump is the way to go.

If you want to try to do it yourself using open-source tools instead of Crossover, you could look at Wineskin. Start here:

Thanks to both of you for your reply.
@John, I have looked at the link you mentioned, so will investigate more deeply.

@Merideth, do you have an indication of cost of your service assuming the software works fine on CrossOver? If I have a valid CrossOver license, can I do this myself? I am not a big software house and would like to explore the minimum entry fee just to package everything as-is into an .app bundle.

Thanks.

The prices are stated on the PortJump page. Runs from 4500 to 9000 dollars US.

Hi again,

I'd recommend using the "Contact us" feature on the PortJump page to get more information. We do list prices on our page, but there could be other solutions available to you as well.

Best,
Meredith

BTW I have to say 9000 bucks for their time to help you get a port done given some of the clients they have is kinda a steal.. That might be beyond what your needs are.. but if I had a commercial windows app I wanted to make a clean port of (esp a game) I'd probably pay that money knowing I'd get it back.
