Hello all, newcomer here. I play AOE III DE on my Macbook Pro M1 since yesterday and I have some graphics issues with it. The game crashes whenever I adjust the brightness of the screen, and I see partial white areas and spotlights on the map. What should I do? Thank you very much.

Hi Kerem, I also play AOE III DE and encounter the white "fog" covering up the map. It started when Steam app was updated and many of us had problems getting Steam to run at all.

I haven't found a true solution to this problem, but I've found that I can temporarily make the white "fog" go away by going into AOE's Graphics options and changing some of the settings. Doesn't seem to matter which setting you change, just make a change and Apply it then return to the game. The white fog will usually go away... for awhile... until it comes back and you have to toggle graphics settings again to make it go away.

Steam says the game requires DirectX 11. You could try enabling DXVK and see if that helps, too.

Anyone found a solution? I am running M2. And I either see a full white screen or shiny objects being too bright (such as water waves). Enabling DXVK does not solve the issue.
