Possible to bypass CrossOver launcher?

Is it possible to launch bottles/application directly instead of requiring the CrossOver launcher first?

It might only save one or two clicks, but there is a delay in opening CrossOver and then waiting for your bottle/application to open. If not, could this be added as a feature?

The only argument I could think of against it is because of licensing but I would think a license check could still be implemented before launching the bottle/application.

You don't need to start the CrossOver launcher to start your apps. On Mac and Linux (maybe ChromeOS too, but I haven't had a Chromebook and can't confirm), the app you install via CrossOver gets an app shortcut. On Mac, you'd find it on Launchpad, most likely on a folder named "CrossOver (other)", and also on Finder at ~/Applications/CrossOver. By any of those ways, you could bypass the CrossOver launcher.

I don't think that's what he is asking. Even if you click the app you mentioned, Crossover needs to launch first. Is it possible for the Crossover launcher not to launch at all? That's what he is asking (I think).

This is not possible.

When you run the Launcher which Crossover creates for your Windows application, all it’s doing is running a script which has to run within the Crossover application.

If you run a Windows application in open-source WINE there is still a Mac application involved, usually Wine Stable. The Windows application runs within “wine-preloader” or another foreground application process with a similar name depending on whether your Windows application is 32/64-bit and whether the version of MacOS you are running has 32-bit application support.

The running Crossover or Wine X application isn’t there just to take up space on your Dock and annoy you with the delay required to launch it. It provides the “environment” that is the instructions necessary for your Windows application to use the Wine components which perform the API translations which allow the Windows application to run within MacOS.
