CrossOver Support - Community Forums

So I have just got LFD2 for cmas, and installed steam, and the game, fully and with no errors on the Crossover Games trial (if I can get this game working, I will buy the full version of Crossover Games). The Steam application works just fine, and my game shows up in my games list. It says 100% ready, and I press "Launch"

My problem is that when I press "Launch" when LF22 is selected, I get the message "Finishing Installation"

A "1%" progress sign pops up for about ten seconds, then I get this message in popup: "Incomplete installation of Left 4 Dead 2 (2)"

Can someone help me?

Is the trial 8.1.3? If so, possibly this issue:

You need to grab the unsupported 8.1.4.

You can probably get more help on the L4D2 forum as well:

The folks in the forum there are actively running it or trying to get it going and are probably more familiar with L4D2 and may not visit the general forum.

Ok so just ininstall my current trial, and re-download it from the site, and I'll have 8.1.4 right?

Sorry, also- where can I get a legal (i/e, not a torrent or something, I don't use those cause a lot are insecure) copy of the Unsupported 8.1.4? When I download the demo, it is 8.1.3.

Just so you know, 8.1.4 is now properly released. It's no longer "unsupported". Therefore, downloading a current trial will give you 8.1.4 without having to jump through any hoops.
