Hi Guys,
I test the unsupported version of Crossover Games for Mac. The problem is always the same like version 1.3, 1.2, 1.1. after the download the programm want to be updated (is there a 8.1.5 version???) but Crossover Games is hanging. The wheel is spinning but I can´t click on quit instead of clicking update I have no choice. I just can force the shutdown of Crossover or wait for the Crash.
Wich files must be updated?
If you're installing a new/older version of Crossover than a previous installation and your old bottles are still present, the new installation of Crossover will need to update your bottles on first launch. This is usually quite fast and not a problem if the version shift isn't too great (i.e. you had CX Games 8.0 and just installed 8.1.0), but if the version shift is steeper (upgrading from 7.2.0 to 8.1.2, for example), the bottle upgrade process might get stuck, or even corrupt your bottles.
If you're experiencing these problems a lot, you may want to archive your current bottles, then completely remove Crossover and your Library/Application Support/CrossOver Games directory prior to installing the new version. Then, with the new version up and running, restore your archived bottles.
Thanks it works now.
But I have a problem with a simulator. World of Subways Vol. 2 wich uses the C4 Engine. Systemrequirements is DirectX 9.0c. 128MB Graphics with Geforce 66xx or better.
After starting the game an error apears -> The Engine was unable to create a suitable graphic content.
I have an Ati 4850 512MB
I create at first a vista bottle before I installed the game.
As with any internet forum, I recommend creating a new thread for this new question. The muddier a thread gets, the less helpful it is likely to be.
Anyway, my advice would be to install into a brand new winXP bottle rather than vista (you can probably just delete that vista bottle), install the World of Subways game, and then install the DirectX Runtime package into that bottle. You can locate this package in the Install Software menu by un-hiding the service packs and dependencies. On Mac go to CrossOver Games>Preferences>Installer Assistant to do this. On Linux it's a little checkbox in the Install Software menu.
