New to Crossover so don't know where bug reports should go but I'll start here.
When the Mac (the Studio Ultra in this case but I have many) is connected to any HDMI output that reports multichannel audio (5.1 or 7.1 etc, I tried a few) some sounds are sent to the subwoofer channel.
In Baldur's Gate 3, the narrator's voice always goes to the subwoofer channel, I assume it was meant to go to the center channel. In Valkyria Chronicles 4, the dialog goes to the subwoofer channel.
In the Apple MIDI application I notice that Apple displays the channels mostly in numerical order except the center channel and the subwoofer channel which are displayed in inverted order. Maybe this would explain the incorrect audio channel mapping.
In any case, if I change the destination to report stereo audio, both work fine. It would be nice not to have to worry about it and to use multichannel audio when available.
Thanks for the support and if I need to move this elsewhere just let me know.
I'll just assume that the silence indicates that this was good enough and the bug has been logged. Once again, if I should do something else just let me know.
