On Crossover 23.5 Elden ring I can’t get the controller to work, yet it’s recognised within Steam and in Crossover controller screen. Any advice? (M2 Max)..
Same issue. After updating to crossover 23.5 I noticed my PS5 controller stopped working for any games through steam. I know it’s connected because I can use the home button to trigger app selector on the Mac and it works in resident evil village from the AppStore just fine. Please help.
Same issue.. and oddly enough.. my PS5 controller (wireless mode) works in Titanfall 2, in the same Steam bottle.. but it doesn't work in Elden Ring and it doesn't work in Witcher 3.
Really weird.. my ps5 controller works in some games such as Titanfall 2 but not in Elden Ring or Witcher 3.. however my ps4 controller works in Witcher 3, but also doesn't work in Elden Ring
I also noticed that my PS5 controller works with game like Crawl, but stopped working on games like Party Animal and SD Gundam Battle Alliance, which it used to work before I updated to 23.5. And with some more testing, I found that in SD Gundam Battle Alliance, pressing down arrow and L1 can somehow exit game menu?? And L2 and R2 along with down arrow can move the mouse cursor which is so weird. So it feels like its not that it doesn't recognize the controller at all, but it's doing weird things.
Update, so I went and deleted my steam bottle and reinstalled everything, the two games are now working with my PS5 controller again. Unfortunately I do not own Witcher 3 or Elden Ring so I can't check for you guys. If you guys are like me in the way that the steam bottle is only there for 1 or 2 games, I would say try reinstalling. If not, maybe create a steam2 bottle and check.
After posting on Reddit someone gave me the answer to fix this issue.. so here it is everyone.
In steam, right-click on the game where the controller isn't working, for me it was Elden Ring, then click Properties, then in the window that appears, click on Controller in the bottom left, finally click the dropdown next to where it says Override for ____ and set to "disable Steam input". Then start the game and your controller will work again : )
