Hi, I am first time crossover user with free trial (v23.6 I think). I just wanted to see how this thing works before I commit to it.

I downloaded and installed the free trial and then installed steam within it. I signed in ok within steam and I can see my existing steam library which includes half-life 25th anniversary. I wanted to pick this game because it is 32-bit and I cannot play it on my apple silicone Mac (running Ventura).

I clicked download and it just stays at 0% and times out. Is there something I have to do? Does steam detect and try to download the windows version or is it trying to download the apple version?

Hi Doug,

You shouldn't need to do anything else; this sounds like an internet connection issue :/ You could try connecting to a different network?

Yes connected all during this. I just downloaded steam inside crossover and signed into it. Is there a Mac permission something or another that I have to give crossover?

I just tried it with 23.7 RC and DXVK/Esync and it downloaded and installed without problem. I also ran the training mission smoothly. The file is only about 500 MB. Have you installed DirectX for modern games? Btw the Steam button should say "Install" not "Download".
