Every time I create a new bottle I always get this. Even if I installed and uninstalled the app.

Hi there,

CrossOver doesn't play nice currently if you have a period in your user name. We're looking into it, but in the meantime, changing your user name should fix the issue.

I have the same error message when trying to create a new bottle from the menus and I don't have a period in my username.

setup:error: 'rundll32 win10Install crossover.inf' failed
cxbottle:error: unable to create the 'New Bottle' bottle in '/Users/toddgraham/Library/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles/New Bottle'

I also get an error when trying to use the Install a Windows Application search function. For example:

cxbottle:error: unable to create the
'Cyberpunk 2077' bottle in '/Users/
toddgraham/Library/Application Support/
CrossOver/Bottles/Cyberpunk 2077'

Both Crossover 23.5 and 23.6 do this, but 23.1 works. I am running Monterey 12.1. Do I need to update my OS to get the newer version to work?

No I am on Sonoma and both versions do the same thing. only my apple silicon on Sonoma works fine tho. so your mmmv

I am not experiencing this issue now, but I was experiencing this issue (and a few other odd behaviors with some specific Windows applications) while running MacOS Ventura and Crossover 23.0. (I am now on MacOS Sonoma and Crossover 23.6.)

What worked for me when I was experiencing this problem was to restart my Mac or to log out of my Mac user account and then log back in. The problem would eventually recur but this did allow Crossover to create new bottles and successfully install applications, for a while each time that ranged from an hour or so to a full day or more.

Monterey 12.1 is really old, I would recommend updating to the latest Monterey version. If that still doesn't work, please enter a support ticket.
