oke so... i managed to install The settlers 6 but, everytime i try to access the game a screen will popup saying "you cant access blablabla because of Parental control settings" so.. i was wondering.. is someone familiar with this problem and is there a solution for it?
I haven't seen exactly that issue, but I've dealt with something similar from another customer. This was a network admin using Apple's network management tools to restrict what students in a lab were allowed to run. The issue is that the CrossOver application uses a lot of other programs behind the scenes to do its work. In particular, one needs to be able to run Unix tools. I don't have experience with Parental Controls on Mac OS X, but with the network management tools, enabling use of Unix tools was a specific permission setting.
That said, I would expect this problem to interfere with installation just as severely as running the game. Can you provide the specific error message?
oke so.. i startup crossover and go to programs where i can find the settlers installation.. then i click on the settlers icon and my mac tries to start it up.. then i'm getting a screen with a X11 message that says " the current user is not allowed to run Settlers rise of an empire due to parental control settings"
ps
My screen doesnt colour/turn black like it normally use to do when starting up a game..
If that message is really an X11 message (with the X11 logo in the title bar), then it's coming from the game and not Mac OS X's parental control feature.
Does Settler's have its own built-in parental control feature? Is this something you can configure when it's installed? Alternatively, is there a separate program you can launch, besides the main game icon, to configure its parental control feature?
So.. i installed settlers 6 with an xp bottle with succes. atleat the games start up a bit .. but now another x11 message comes up and says "your graphics adapter does not meet the required 70 mb cause we could only find 58mb ) uhmm what is this ?
thanks in advance
danny
