My version of Crossover Games for the mac asks me if I want to send usage data every time I launch it. Is this intentional? Seems like it should remember my answer (which is yes, in case that's relevant).

Just FYI sort of thing, the linux version does exactly the same,
but having said that...I do know the linux GUI with crossover is
going to change 'sometime in the future'...hopefully, it'll grow
a preferences tab or something, where you can turn this function
either on or off. which would be much more convenient and a lot
less in your face at the same time ;)
No, it shouldn't do that. It should be recording your answer in ~/Library/Application Support/CrossOver Games/CrossOverGames.conf. It may be that, for some reason, it can't write to that file.
Yeah, I am experiencing the same frustration since upgrading to 8.0. I tried selecting every option but it continues to ask every second launch. Even stranger: whenever it asks to collect usage data the bottles don't initialize until I restart. I have considered downgrading but that is as close to a solution as I have. Let me know if you figure anything out.

We're currently tracking this issue pretty closely, but none of our in-house machines exhibit this problem. Any other users seeing this problem are encouraged to bump this thread, and we'll create a ticket and assign the ticket to the bug in question so that we can track you along with the investigation, and contact you if needed. Thanks!
I can also verify this problem on my Mac: Mac OS X 10.5.8, CrossOverGames 8.1.3. There is no "CrossOverGames.conf" file on my system at ~/Library/Application Support/CrossOver/. I have only a "CrossOver.conf" file there (along with "Bottles" and "installers" folders).
I have an interesting, possibly related issue in that my iMac CXG installation has no problems with the CXG.conf file, and in fact has several of them, obviously different versions and, apparently, changes.
I'm using an Intel Macbook, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with Snow Leopard 10.6.2, and I've also been having the same constant prompting to collect usage data since the last update to CrossOver Games.
I've got this problem too but I never considered it a problem because it only pops up every... 10 launches or so... and I assumed that was just how it was set up...

its really not even a problem and or a bug, i'd say if you wanna help CodeWeavers imrpove their product go ahead and allow it, if you don't deny it, i allow it of course :P
It is a bug on a Mac. It asks every time after a reboot of the machine. It does not ask again after that. And it goes along with a bug in initializing bottles on a Mac. For the first start of Crossover after a reboot this initialization never stops. You have to quit and restart Crossover in order to get a bottle that you can actually manage with the provided tools (games do start without a problem even on the first start). This is repeatable behavior; it is like this every time. If this is not a bug, I don't know...

you can never say its a bug, he never said the version all he said was
"My version" who knows, the bug could of been fixed if he wasn't using the latest version, it doesn't do this too me.
On my iMac with Snow Leopard and Crossover Games 8.1.4 I have the same problem.
Every start of COG I get this popup and not necessary what I click, it pops up again every start of COG.
Same with CrossOver 8.20 Unsupported Build, but it seems to be not at every build but at random launches, sometimes it will, others it wont.
