It's nice to see that Assassin's Creed Odyssey works since introduction of AVX support. But performance is terrible even on highest end Mac, making it umplayable due to low frame rates. But since Red Dead Redemption 2 (another AVX game) got an absurd performance improvement on latest crossover 25 beta 4, can we expect the same level of performance coming soon?
Yesterday I did a lot of tests on this game, using a M2 Max 38-Core.
By default, this game simply runs slow. Basicaly, you can't ramp up the FPS too much, even on 720p and low settings. Another particularity is that there's always an input lag from controls.
Graphics does not seem to be the main issue here. Maybe it is something related to CPU emulation, or AVX, something that is slowing down the game.
About graphics, the impact on performance is low, so the game runs basically the same going from 1080p to 1440p, or from low to high graphics settings.
It feels like the game runs in a "hand brake". I'm pretty confident codeweavers know what to do about it, and will address it.
