I've been hitting the following error more and more often over the past few months whilst trying to play some newer games.

Failure with HRESULT of 80004001
I had hoped that the launch of CX23 might resolve this so I've been hanging on, but even after the upgrade I'm still getting it.
Does anyone have any solutions?

I assume you are downloading from BigFish. Can you give me the system info? Linux? Mac? Video card info?
I do not play DO games so had not run into this, but I also got the same error even after adding libraries for dx9 and dx11 and switching between built-in and native when trying to play this game.
I play a LOT of BF games on my Linux Mint 21 as well as Kubuntu 23.04 and have never had that result before. The issues I have encountered are only one developer's games and for me that is Elephant Games. They run, but so laggy you could never play them. I just haven't taken the time to resolve it as I have over a 1000 games to play from BFG. But all my other games, with the exception of a couple of Nancy Drew old games, run perfectly.
Anytime I have had error messages, they are usually related to the direct x files or something that gives me a name which I then add to the wine configuration for that game and it fixes it. Hopefully we can resolve yours.
